Here’s why Undersiege Paintball is the perfect school outing…
Paintball is a highly involved team game that takes place in the great outdoors. The backdrops to our woodland arenas feature some fantastic views over Weardale. Your pupils are getting a huge dose of fresh air in the middle of the County Durham countryside. What’s not to love?
UNDERSIEGE FOR SCHOOLS:
There’s no denying that paintball gets the adrenaline pumping – it’s fun, it’s involved, it’s an extreme sport with that perceived element of danger but it is extremely safe, especially here at Undersiege Paintball.
Paintballing is a non-contact sport and all of our games are marshalled by a Games Manager and at least two Marshals. There is a First Aider on site at all times. We use only the highest quality full face and head protection and our eagle-eyed Marshals are there to make sure that they are correctly worn and in place at all times outside of the safety nets where no guns are allowed.
We are insured for public liability up to £5 million and our insurance certificate, Child Protection Policy and Risk Assessments are available to all school groups booking with us.
Paintballing is a great leveller. Everyone starts by putting on camouflage overalls and full face masks. Everyone looks the same so self-consciousness can be forgotten. Like all sports, is has clear objectives (each game is fully explained by the games manager before play begins) and teaches the kids how to devise strategies, it teaches them about leadership, team-work, lateral thinking, problem solving and improvisation. Except, of course, because paintball is an extreme sport, it doesn’t feel like PE. It’s sport by stealth – it gives an excellent full body workout and it’s perfect for teenagers who think they don’t like games.
